SANTA ANA, Calif.—Mixed martial arts fighter Kimo Leopoldo was rustled from bed Tuesday by his promoter to let him know he had reportedly died.
Leopoldo, a 41-year old Orange County resident who used to fight in the UFC, said he spent the night at a friend’s house and had no idea about the rumors whirling across the Internet until he got a knock at the door at midday.

He said he almost had to do a double-take in the mirror after reading the news reports of his passing because it seemed like a prediction.
